The north face of the Monrepós mountain pass is one of the most unknown areas in the region. This trail gives you the perfect excuse to uncover all the surprises this locality has to offer: such as the scenery, as you follow the course of the River Gállego; the architecture; works of hydraulic engineering (canals, hydroelectric power stations, old bridges, fords, etc.); and art, with part of the trail following the Izarbe path, which is known for the contemporary cave paintings that decorate natural features along the way.
There is just one point of difficulty on the trail. It runs for a few metres between Javielatre and Caldearenas, and only the most skilled cyclists will get by without putting a foot on the ground. This trail is accessible all year round, but we would recommend avoiding the hottest times of the day during the summer and taking precautions for icy conditions during the winter.
START: Caldearenas.
